You Deserve the Best

When we feel we deserve more, we get more.  We might find that for a period of time, we find something acceptable.  We think it's the best.  Then we start to get the sense that we deserve more.  We might deserve to be treated better by a partner or a friend, we might find we feel we deserve to feel better in our body than we currently do.  We might sense there's more to life than we have been experiencing.  

This is a good sign, our sense of what we deserve, or what we could call our 'deserving power' is growing.  When we can conceive of a better possibility, it means our deserving power has increased already, and that higher possibility is coming into being.

When you learned to meditate, it was because your deserving power had grown, you felt you deserved to feel better, that there might be a better experience available to you than your everyday experience of life up until that point. Before that point in time, the thought had not really occurred to you. You might not have liked certain elements of your experience, the suffering, the fatigue, the lack of clarity, the fear, sadness, anxiety. But you weren’t willing to seek out or make a change, to do something differently. So while you might have complained about it (to others or just to yourself), you essentially were accepting the status quo as what you deserved.

Then you heard about the effects of meditation and something sparked within you. I do deserve to feel that. A glimmer of light, an increase in deserving power. Perhaps it wasn’t until you attended an Intro talk that you realised that you deserved more, when presented with a higher possibility: we must first be able to conceive of it.

Did you delay in learning for a while, happy to continue in the current state, feeling that you weren’t yet ready to make a change, or to commit to that higher possibility, or afraid of what would happen if you did claim it for yourself? It’s an interesting lens through which to reflect upon the experience.

You deserve the best. Simply as a result of what you are, an expression of nature. You don’t need to improve yourself in order to be deserving. You’re deserving of it right now. But, you must accept it. You must expect it. You must claim it. When you align with that higher possibility - first you conceive it, you accept that you deserve it, then you make steps towards claiming it - then you set forth the wheels of motion to receive it.

When you first have an inkling of a better possibility, it’s a nudge from Nature. From your own highest consciousness state - you deserve this, now. This is coming to you. The next thing to consider is, what do I need to change in order to receive this? What action is required of me? The accepting.

Do I need to take a little more time to let this better possibility come to me? The expecting, expecting the best to come.

Is it a conversation I need to have with a family member, friend or partner about a relationship dynamic which is no longer serving me (and therefore us). Have I outgrown a relationship, job, or role? Is there something I need to let go of? That step is where you will rise into that next level of deserving power which has already become available in your awareness. The claiming.

To do so is not demanding too much. You are not too much. Your desires are not too much. Your dreams are not too much. Expressing those to others, will not make you too much. But it will allow you to claim the best for yourself. Which is what you deserve.

How can we increase deserving power? By continually rising into & claiming the best. The best consciousness state. The best relationship with ourselves and others, with nature, with the Self. Meditation is the accelerator, the expander of our consciousness and therefore our deserving power naturally increases as we keep meditating. Perhaps what we thought was the best before we learned to meditate has dramatically changed compared with what we now feel is the best. It changes along with our consciousness state, which is directly correlated to our deserving power.

Meditation itself, taking time to meditate, is expressive of high deserving power. I deserve to feel my best and everyone around me deserves to experience the best version of me. I accept this, I expect this and I claim it - I make time for meditation and I prioritise it accordingly.
