Vedic Meditation teacher training is unique in that it prioritises the state of consciousness of the Teacher, along with specific knowledge.  Repeating knowledge is not nearly as impactful as being it, as speaking from the layer of consciousness from which this knowledge arises.

The length of the training is indicative of the deep process, the level of personal expansion which is available to you, the reverence we have for this teaching & its profound effects - you cannot do this online, you cannot do this in 200 hours.  This is thousands of hours of training & creates Masters of this practice & its knowledge.  

There are no shortcuts to Mastery, and a Master you will be.

This teacher training consists of three months of in-depth knowledge, wisdom, your own expansive process via extensive rounding & the specifics related to our highly refined teaching process.  You’ll emerge in an entirely different consciousness state, ready to hold space for others & to impart deep wisdom.

DETAILS

Initiator Training will take place across three months in India, during which you’ll be immersed in an intensive training program. As part of the process, a significant amount of rounding will be undertaken, including specific instruction in Vedic Meditation Initiation & knowledge sessions to support your teaching. It’s a process which begins on day 1 and as such there are not any days off, nor much free time. You will have breaks, but at certain points of the training these will be minimal & largely for meals or rest outside of rounding. You must be willing to undertake this highly refined and powerful process in order to proceed with your application. You’ll not be provided with any further scheduling information until training begins, it’s important that you’re willing to surrender to the process, which is the very same Initiator Training process conceived by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.

The training is hosted by Georgia Vavasour along with Vedic Master, Pandit Baskaran (who has personally initiated over 100,000 people and began his training personally with Maharishi at 8 years of age). Georgia will be in attendance for the entire training, except for a short 2 week break during your high rounds. Panditji will be there for the bulk of the training as well, apart from attending to some other commitments & checking in at home with family here and there. Geoff Rupp, a respected Vedic Meditation Initiator who has over ten years teaching experience will facilitate during Georgia’s absence. It’s an incredible opportunity to have such extended access to experienced teachers who can share generously the pathway to create a successful teaching career - whether you intend to teach full time or in smaller, more selective settings.

The training is hosted at the Sattva Yoga Academy Ashram, at the base of the mountains where I originally received this training myself. It is a purpose built yoga and meditation ashram with a pool, river access, a dedicated room for our training, warm tasty & extensive vegetarian meals & a very sattvic atmosphere which energetically supports the progression of our training.

You can consider yourself to be on retreat for three months. It is an incredibly rare opportunity to experience this kind of immersion for such an extended amount of time and emerge with an incredibly powerful, lifetime vocation which changes lives.

The investment for IT is NZD $26,500. An initial deposit of $5000 NZD is required to secure your spot once approved & we’ll then arrange a payment plan of instalments, with final payment required by Nov 2026. PREREQUISITES FOR INITIATOR TRAINING

1. You need to have been practicing Vedic Meditation regularly for at least 18 months at the time of the commencement of training (Dec 2026). If you fall outside of this parameter, please contact us to discuss your options.

2. You must have received at least one meditation Advanced Technique from a qualified Initiator of Vedic Meditation (it’s recommended that you’re up to date with your Advanced techniques prior to Teacher Training to optimise your extended rounding experience). You can arrange to receive your Advanced Technique subsequent to your application.

3. You must have completed at least one extended residency Rounding Retreat (at least 5 days) as conducted by a qualified Initiator of Vedic Meditation, during which a minimum of seven Rounds were practised on one day. If this has not yet been completed, you can arrange to attend one prior to IT and your application will remain subject to the successful completion of this prerequisite.

4. You must have completed instalment 1-4 of Self Mastery advanced knowledge modules (by the time of commencement of IT, Dec 2026).

5. You need to have demonstrated a passion & dedication to Vedic wisdom - for example through regular attendance at Group Meditations, advanced knowledge courses, Pocket Guru membership.
